Mo has been working in the animal-care industry for over a decade. From volunteering at animal shelters, to veterinary care, to pet-sitting, to dog grooming – she has done a little bit of everything! She joined the team at Canal Bark in 2023 and tells EVERYONE it is her favorite place she has ever worked.
At home she has a sweet senior lop-eared bunny, Phoebe, and a very silly black cat, Tube ‘o Toothpaste. She enjoys spending her free time writing, reading, swimming, and scouting out all the best vegetarian eats in Minnesota!
What makes Canal Bark her favorite place to work? Her answer is always the same and always simple. The people. To quote her directly: “Every person that passes through our doors, employees and pet-parents alike, are animal lovers to their core. It means the world to me to be surrounded by people that love animals just as much as I do. Even when we have differences, we are united in our love for our furry friends. How cool is that?”
Lindsey has been part of the Canal Bark team since November 2019. Throughout her years here she has had multiple roles including Pet Care Attendant, Lead CSR, and now Assist Manager. Lindsey earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology before finding her true passion in caring for animals.
When not at work she enjoys going on adventures and snuggling up with her pup Bella, spending time outdoors, puzzles, and watching movies.
Her favorite thing about working at Canal Bark is getting to know all the animals and owners that come through the doors and creating long lasting bonds with new furry friends!
Haley is the afternoon Team Lead Animal Care Attendant here at Canal Bark, where she has worked since April of 2023. She has always been passionate about caring for animals and loves getting to know each pet's unique personality. She takes pride in making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved, creating a home-away-from-home experience during their stay. At home, she has two dogs, Fynn, a Miniature Pinscher Yorkie mix, Gizmo, a rescue terrier mix, as well as a black cat named Jasper. Haley has also cared for many other animals at home including guinea pigs, parakeets, and multiple fish tanks full of various kinds of freshwater fish. When she's not at Canal Bark, she enjoys hiking and walking with her dogs, going to concerts and festivals, building LEGO sets, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and boyfriend.
Sharon has been with Canal Bark since March 2018. Before joining the Canal Bark team, she was a Graphic Designer. Sharon found her happy place, forming close relationships and taking care of beloved pets at Canal Bark.
Her favorite part about working at CB is getting to know all the pets and their personalities, especially the puppies. Sharon enjoys helping puppies learn and grow during their time in the Puppy Socialization program.
At the end of the day, Sharon goes home to her two fur children, Jack, a Golden Retriever, and Zak, a Golden Retriever/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Mix. Outside of work, Sharon enjoys spending time outdoors (walking/hiking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing, and sitting around a fire) with her husband and pups. She also loves hanging out with family and friends.
Kaitlyn started working at Canal Bark as a Pet Care Technician in April of 2021 and her love for interacting with the pets in our care and documenting their fun through pictures landed her the role of Social Media Coordinator in November 2023, and then took on the role of Team Lead in April of 2026. Outside of work, Kaitlyn enjoys playing music with her band alongside her husband Ned, raising her middle school aged son, Leo, being active and enjoying time in Duluth’s abundant nature and social scene. Kaitlyn’s passions in life include a love of animals-most especially dogs. She has a propensity for compassion and happiness, so she says that working at Canal Bark has been a dream come true as it checks all the boxes!
At home Kaitlyn has a Basset Hound mix named Maeby Cakes, a St. Bernard mix named Hank, a Forest Cat named Tucker Baconstrip, a Tabby Cat named Link, and a large tank full of colorful fish.
Kaitlyn loves watching the pets at Canal Bark play and feels very fortunate that she gets to document all of the cute things they do, as well as share those things with the public. Her favorite part about her position is when the pet owners interact with the media or comment on how much they love seeing the updates and silly narratives Kaitlyn comes up with for their pet. She feels really lucky to get to care for and bond with so many wonderful animals for a living!
Canal Bark is an upscale yet affordable one-stop pet facility. We strive to provide hotel and spa-like services for your pet in a safe and clean environment. We select effective cleaning products that have lowered impact on the environment and that minimize exposure to harsh chemicals.
Air quality is of utmost importance for facilities that provide pet care. We have a state-of-the-art heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation system that provides an air exchange rate of 0.9 cubic feet per minute per pet. This significantly reduces the potential for the spread of disease, reduces humidity, and reduces the potential for odor.
